Dear Friends,

On Wed. (Nov. 7th), I awoke after 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I had not slept that well in at least 2 years. I am extremely happy with our election results for many reasons reasons, but I first want to share how thankful and appreciative I am for everyone who supported me.

On election night, a man asked me what my favorite part of running for office was, and I said, “My family has grown to include the thousands of community members I met, my amazing campaign staff, our volunteers, and the dozens of inspiring candidates I’ve come to know and love. And, I know this sounds weird, but I also include my opponent.” He looked a little shocked, and perhaps you are, too.

During a time when political divides are at their highest, John McCollister agreed to run a positive campaign, and over the past 18 months I had the pleasure of getting to know him. I know I would (and may still someday) make an extraordinary State Senator bringing the type of change we all want to see. With that said, I can sleep easy (literally) knowing that my race is indicative of changes to come, and in the meantime I know my opponent will continue to fight for things like education and healthcare. Because if he doesn’t, he knows he’ll be hearing from me.

In a time when legislative candidates are spending over $150k on their races, we spent about $26k and received 41% of the vote!  This is only the beginning, and I hope to have your support in 2022!
