Anne Boyle, the grande dame of the Democratic Party in Nebraska, died this past Saturday evening at her home in Omaha surrounded by her family. Anne will be laid to rest this Saturday, February 9th. Visitation begins at 9:00 am at Heafey Hoffmann Dworak Cutler Mortuary at 7805 W Center Rd, Omaha, NE 68124 . Funeral services follow at 11:00.
Anne served for eighteen years on the Public Service Commission, and also served at separate times as the Nebraska Democratic Party chair, and as the Douglas County Democratic Party chair. Over the length of her career, she focused on protecting Nebraskans from unprincipled business practices by some of the State’s largest companies, and sparked a movement which saw unprecedented numbers of women candidates run for elected office this past year.
The Douglas County Democratic Party has been asked to collect photos for Anne. If you have an old photo of yourself with Anne, please forward the image to Scott Packer, our Executive Director, at [email protected].
