State Senator Sarah Howard has announced that she is not done serving the people of Douglas County. Today she announced that she is going to run for the Omaha Public Power District Board of Directors, Subdivision 2.
On Facebook, Senator Howard states, “I have loved serving District 9 in the legislature these past 8 years and with the encouragement of neighbors, advocates and voters I have decided to run for OPPD Board of Directors in 2020!
This is a journey in public service that wouldn’t be possible without the support of my awesome family (Go Gwen Howard and Doug Schroder!) and the folks in my district who believe in me. I’m excited at the opportunity to support a dynamic and ratepayer-oriented public power district.
On a personal note, my grandfather, Guy Middaugh, worked at OPPD for decades as a lineman. It’s been an honor to follow my mom’s shoes in the legislature, and my heart is so full at the chance to make my grandfather proud at OPPD.
I hope I can count on your support!”
