| Dear Friends, I am delighted to announce that on Friday, March 31st, we selected a new Commissioner of Education for Nebraska. Please see our press announcement here. We selected Dr. Brian Maher. I believe that we were extremely lucky to find someone of Dr. Maher’s caliber and experience. Dr. Maher has led strategies in previous school districts that resulted in improved graduation rates for ALL students. He is very data focused and understands that we need for every student to reach their full potential. Maher has a strong record of successful policy work, and also success at building consensus and understanding around topics that have become politicized. I believe he is the right person to lead education policy efforts in Nebraska for the next 10 years.
